Developers' Response
My introduction already sums up the events of my review being conveyed to the developers and their response. This functions mostly as an epilogue. The creators of the work play victim when even the implication of
racist behavior comes up. They do not take accountability for their emotions or actions. When I made my review, I was treated to a dogpile of criticism that I was characterizing the book maliiciously, that I could
not read or properly understand the game's rules, that I was making up stories of racism for attention. Their response to me itself confirmed what I knew about the book. It is not a mystery game, it is wish fulfillment.
More than exclusionary book content and more than the implications it leaves, treating a reviewer like this is unacceptable behavior. It would have been if I was a white. The racist behavior merely added another
layer onto the problem. I highly recommend skipping this book. In fact, I recommend skipping it in even in the event they do eventually apologize. It should not have taken weeks for me to get any acknwoledgement at
all that the racist treatment I received was unfair. They have no issues posting on their social media to promote the game, editing the book to promote their game or participating in podcasts to promote their game
but aren't capable of two sentences explaining they understood what happened was racist? I have already given this team the benefit of the doubt so my review is going to remain as it is baring significant overhauls
to the game as well as to the team.
